The Nordic events at the Olympic Winter Games 2026 in Milan, Italy, will take place in the picturesque Val di Fiemme. This renowned location is set to host thrilling competitions in cross-country skiing, ski jumping, and Nordic combined. Athletes from around the world will showcase their endurance, technique, and aerial skills in a setting known for its stunning alpine scenery. Val di Fiemme has a rich history of hosting winter sports events, making it an ideal venue for these Olympic disciplines. The distance from Pietralba to Val di Fiemme is 45 minutes by bus. Buses will be provided on the day of the events in Val di Fiemme.

🇳🇴 “CAMP NORWAY” in Pietralba Weissenstein

The Pietralba Weissenstein area is a stunning region located in the South Tyrol of northern Italy. Known for its picturesque landscapes and captivating natural beauty, it serves as a perfect getaway for nature lovers and those seeking tranquility. The area is renowned for its lush forests, rolling hills, and panoramic views of the Dolomites, making it a popular destination for hiking and outdoor activities. Pietralba is also home to the famous pilgrimage site, the Sanctuary of Pietralba, which attracts visitors with its serene atmosphere and historical significance.

A beautiful location in Pietralba has been reserved for the Olympic period and will serve as the home of “Camp Norway” where guests can enjoy a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere throughout their stay. An “Olympic studio” will be set up on-site to provide daily updates and highlights from the competitions.

There are three hotels to choose from: Hotel Leonhard, Hotel Corno Bianco, and Hotel Pietralba. In addition, the area features a spacious restaurant, a newly renovated artisan brewery, and a former monastery that now operates as a museum. The accommodation is simple in standard. All the rooms have a private bathroom. Meeting rooms are also available for reservation.

The facility and surroundings provide a great setting for a fantastic stay during the Olympics. After an eventful and memorable day at the venue, you can relax with a beer from the local brewery or go hiking or skiing in the beautiful areas around the resort. There are marked trails for both. In the evening, you will enjoy a dinner with delicious traditional food and local wine from the Caldaro district.

Tesero – Cross-Country Skiing & Nordic Combined

Val di Fiemme was the first in the southern Alps to host the Nordic World Ski Championship in 1991, establishing Tesero as a key location for international Nordic skiing. The Tesero Cross-Country Stadium, known for its exceptional conditions and skilled personnel, has hosted iconic events such as the Cross-Country Skiing World Cup and Tour de Ski, for which Val di Fiemme is a permanent fixture. Surrounded by prized forests managed by the historic Magnifica Comunità di Fiemme, Tesero also serves as a hub for year-round outdoor activities, from skiing to trekking, and is known for its artisan woodworking. The Fabio Canal Cross-Country and Biathlon Center is located at 830m above sea level. Its 19km of trails are always challenging, with most suitable for both skating and classic styles. Part of the trails are also lit artificially, allowing for nighttime skiing. It will host all cross-country skiing events at Milano Cortina 2026 , as well as the Para cross-country skiing and Para biathlon competitions.

Predazzo – Nordic Combined & Ski Jumping

Val di Fiemme, with the hills of Predazzo, will be the world's stage for ski jumping and Nordic combined events at the Olympic Winter Games Milano Cortina 2026. The facility spans an area of 3000sqm and consists of two main ski jumps for international competitions, training jumps and various equipped spaces for athletes, judges, federations and the media. Predazzo has a rich 40-year history of ski jumping, hosting the Nordic World Ski Championships and World Cup races. The Ski Jumping Stadium is a key symbol of Val di Fiemme, an area deeply connected to sports. Predazzo also serves as a gateway to the Val di Fassa and Ski Center Latemar, and the Paneveggio Pale di San Martino Nature Park, famous for its Norway spruce used in musical instruments. Known for its geological significance, Predazzo is home to the Geological Museum of the Dolomites. The town's strong sporting tradition includes hosting events like a shorter version of the famous Marcialonga cross-country race.

FAQ

The best airport to use is Malpensa in Milan. There are closer airports in Verona and Innsbruck but with worse flight connections from the Nordics. Transfer time from Malpensa is around 4 hours with a car.

Transportation Options:

Elämys Package: When purchasing a package from Elämys, you can request an offer for flights and airport transfers. Offers will be available in March 2025.
Public Transport: If you are planning on using public transport to travel to Val di Fiemme, it is recommended to fly to Innsbruck or Verona. From Verona, there’s a direct train to Ora Train Station where there are shuttle busses to Tesero/Predazzo on event dates and public transportation to Val di Fiemme hotels.
Self-Drive: Driving to the hotel is an option. A resident pass is required to pass through traffic filters to access the towns. Elämys will assist in obtaining this pass with a hotel reservation.

Transportation to the Venue

By Car: Spectators can park at designated Park & Ride facilities, with dedicated shuttles available to the venue. More details on Park & Ride facilities will be provided by September 2025.
By Public Transport: From all our hotels direct public transport busses go to Predazzo and Tesero. Travel times from hotels are around 30-45 minutes.
- If you are arriving from farther away there will be shuttle busses from Ora Train Station to the Venues.

The TransportApp will be a stand-alone application, meaning it can be independently downloaded from app stores or accessed via a link within the main Olympic Winter Games app.
